Chrildren around table

Firebird Families,

We hope everyone is enjoying Easter Break and taking time to rest and recharge for the

important weeks ahead.

As we return, OMSA will move into a focused period of EOG preparation and support. Our

school will be implementing targeted tutoring and a structured instructional plan to ensure that

all students are supported in both test-taking strategies and grade-level mastery.

We ask that parents remain aware of this effort and partner fully with the school. This work

directly aligns with our recently strengthened Student Promotion, Retention, and Intervention

Policy, and it is essential that we move forward together with shared expectations. This also

serves as a reminder that the policy will be actively implemented and enforced.

The OMSA Board of Directors also wants to provide transparency regarding our continued

growth. After careful consideration, the Board has made the difficult decision to decrease the

number of seats for the upcoming lottery. This decision was based on current space

limitations and the financial responsibilities associated with building our new school.

As we move forward, it is important to recognize that the Board of Directors is carrying a

significant responsibility in balancing growth, sustainability, and quality. Every decision is

grounded in one priority—providing a high-quality education for our students.

There is still time for families and stakeholders to become more engaged.

The week students return to school will be a critical week:

● EOG Preparation will begin

● OMSA’s 6th Annual STREAMERS Gala will take place on April 17

● That same week is Firebird Giving Week

● Grade-level competitions are currently underway

Simply put—we need your support.

Lastly, we want to highlight the broader impact of OMSA. This year, OMSA has brought over $5

million into our community, supporting local employment for teachers, staff, and professionals.

These resources directly strengthen families, create jobs, and circulate through our local

economy—supporting businesses and increasing opportunity throughout Pembroke and

Robeson County. Our school also draws families into the area, encouraging continued

investment in local establishments.

OMSA is not only educating children—it is actively building and sustaining our community.

However, as a grassroots initiative, this level of impact does not happen without continued

support. Every dollar matters, and every contribution helps us sustain and expand this work. If

we believe in quality education, strong families, and a thriving community, then we must act

together to support it.

Now is the time to invest in OMSA.

With that said, we hope to see an overflow of support on April 17—a strong showing of our

community that believes in quality education and the future of our children.

Let’s continue building together.
