Lotterease Seal
The 2025 - 2026 School Year Application Window will open on March 14th at 8:00 am and close on April 14th at 5:00 pm. The lottery will be held on May 1st at 2:00 pm, with the location to be in Carter Hall Cafeteria. You must apply online via Lotterease for your child to be entered into the enrollment lottery.
If your child is accepted in the lottery held on May 1st, or at any point after that, you must confirm that spot via Lotterease within 5 days. Official confirmation emails from Lotterease will be sent on May 15th. We will remove students from the waitlist and onto the accepted list as space becomes available.
What is Lotterease?
Lotterease is an independent automated lottery system that the school uses to manage its lottery and waitlist. Since Lotterease is an autonomous system, the school staff cannot manipulate or adjust the lottery outcome. They must work within the requirements of the system. In addition, all activity that takes place with your application is tracked in a history log that you can view at any time by logging into the parent portal.
If the school you want your child to attend displays the Lotterease Seal of Transparency and Fairness, you can rest assured that your child will get their fair chance to attend the school.
Please read carefully!
Old Main STREAM Academy Charter School reserves the right to refuse enrollment to any student or family under the following circumstances:
• The student is currently under a term of expulsion or suspension from a public school under G.S. 115C-390.5 through G.S. 115C-390.11 until the period of suspension or expulsion has expired;
• A parent or guardian willingly and knowingly provided incorrect information on the enrollment application;
• If a student has accepted enrollment at the school, but does not appear at the school in the first 2 days of school, the school will make reasonable attempts to contact the parents. If there is no response from the parent by the 5th day of school, Old Main STREAM Academy reserves the right to remove the student from their enrollment roster and offer a position to the next student on the waiting list.
If a student is entered into the lottery more than once, then the child will be placed at the end of the waitlist in that grade level, assigned to the lowest weight that he/she is qualified for in the lottery.
Prospective students who are children and/or in the care of employees/Board of Directors will be provided weight.
How old will you be on August 31st this year? All children entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old by August 31st as mandated by the state of North Carolina.
Based on the parent agreement in the family handbook, if a current student has a history of attendance issues, discipline, and/or lack of parental support, then incoming sibling(s) will not be provided an additional weight.
When parents/guardians come for orientation the person must show ID
All withdrawals that stated, ‘no’ on the intent to return forms and/or plan to withdraw, should complete the withdrawal process at OMSA by the second/third week of June (this assists with Power School and projecting numbers)
